More about Dippers - this one below high tide mark in the river running into the Harbour at Lower Town (27th Nov). Amazing the size of stones it could turn over whilst foraging for what looked like small shrimps.

This afternoon in Solva a Little egret catching some nice sized fish. I first photographed it/one there in 2007. I think there has been an Egret there each winter since. It seems a Little egret lived over 22 years at Twycross Zoo - I like to think the one in Solva is the same bird visiting each winter. Also 86 Lapwing and 14 Golden plover on St Davids Airfield

A Gannet diving in today in very shallow water close to the cliffs. Such precision and such amazing judgement of depths and angles would be life threatening if the Gannet made a mistake !!!

Tonight - it is a Curlew with a small crab. They can live up to 30 years and stay with the same mate for life. These fantastic birds are in a spiral downwards in terms of their numbers

Another fantastic sunset at Whitesands this evening. Although the Car park and Camp sites there are bursting with visitors unusually not a single surf board or Kayak. Simply because the sea is to calm so, paddle borders and swimmers

Yesterday was very quiet re Birds at Llangoffan Fen. Lots of Lizards, some Demoiselle, Darters and a few butterflies. Photography was somewhat challenging

I have seen quite a few Bitterns over the years but never when I had a camera until today. It was a long way off and the photo is heavily cropped ( zoomed in) but my first photo of a Bittern it is/they are.
