More 'memorable wildlife encounters' - We were on a boat trip in the Grassholm area when this strange (it was to us then) large 'creature' past us. I managed this photo of it using 'the good old' Agfa slides just before 'I went digital' It and the rest of the pod were also seen and photographed from other boats. It turned out we were looking at Rissos dolphins. They had been un heard of here until this occasion. More recently there have been many sightings each year. More 'memorable wildlife encounters' - Ceredigion is a mega county for Bottle nosed dolphins. I was fortunate to photo this calf practising 'leaps' near Cardigan Island in 2007 on a boat trip with 'Dolphin Survey Boat Trips' (Newquay)

Another 'memorable wildlife encounter' - John Coe is possibly the worlds most famous cetacean. he is a member of the famous 'West Coast' pod - named as they normally frequent the west Coast of Scotland. In 2008 I was lucky enough to see and photograph both him and his companion known as 'Aquarius' in Pembrokeshire waters. Our skipper on the day (Zeman) saw him in years 07 and 09 also. John Coe is now about 65 years old and at the moment in Strangford lock on his spring tour around Ireland. To find out more just Google 'Orca John Coe' ( with Thousand Islands Wildlife expeditions )

A glorious day for a wander in St Davids along the River by the Cathedral meadows, everything from Woodland glades, blossom, spring flowers, butterflies and cattle including a 'boy' calf having some of Mums milk for lunch. The butterfly is a Green veined white - thanks to Clive Hurford for confirming my ID.

Lockdown at least gives us time to reflect on memorable moments. The first Fin whale I have seen was in Pembrokeshire waters on a boat trip from St Davids 2006. It looked massive - which they are - up to 25 metres in length and weighing in at up to to 90 tonnes makes them longer than a Railway train carriage and over double the weight of one. They are the second largest animal to have lived on our Planet. With Thousand Islands Wildlife Expeditions

Very very strange to see St Davids Cathedral closed and no one enjoying it on a sunny day in May
