Visit to WWT Llanelli 2. The reserve is often thought of as just for birds. Yesterday it was a lovely place to be, the trees showing a change to autumn colours, berries of all shapes and sizes ,people just enjoying walking there. Lots of Butterflies including Comma, I think Hawkers and Darters. If anyone knows which species shown please let me know - thanks in advance.
Visit to WWT Llanelli 1 - It was a good day there yesterday in particular for wading birds. Shown are pics of Black tailed godwit (Hundreds there), Ruff (Isaw 4) Common sandpiper and I was lucky to find a Spotted redshank and get a long distance record photo. Also 2 Curlew sandpipers and two Greenshank plus more.

A very interesting Boat trip this morning along the North Pembrokeshire coast from Fishguard. Lots of Seal mothers suckling pups whilst others shouted and got into fights - thats normal for Lady Seals. In a matter of minutes we saw Common dolphin see photo, Porpoise see photo and Rissos dolphin. Three different species of Cetacean within 10 minutes - WOW !!. Good numbers of sea birds, various gulls, Guillemot, Gannet also a 'Gulp' of Cormorants. The nice Mr Google says that is the Collective Noun for a Group of Cormorants. Thanks to Pad and to Ian 'for lifting me off the boat' - old age and of course lots of wisdom comes at a price !!! With Blue Shark charters .

About a fortnight ago I visited the Botanical gardens near Carmarthen with good friends and went to the afternoon Bird of Prey flying session/exhibition. Yes they are not my normal wild bird photos but there is something special about the look in the eye of raptors under any circumstances. Oh yes I will go again. I have shown Red Kite, Black Kite and Eagle Owl from the session

Lots of Seals on the Beaches of Ramsey yesterday and lots of different activity as well. Bull seals patrolling 'their' beaches and Harems, Mums and Pups just chilling in the sunshine, Mums feeding Pups and the odd fight here and there as well. As always photos taken at distance with a large telephoto lens and cropped as well. With 'Falcon

Ramsey Island is pretty busy at the moment with lots of Seals, mothers and 'pups' There are times when very young pups go to the wrong mother and like this one get a pretty brutal welcome. it did find its own mum eventually. I should say all photos taken with a large telephoto lens and cropped keeping a good distance from the activity. @ Falcon Boats
