A few birdies from a visit to Llanelli a few weeks ago - they seemed to have escaped until now. Two long distance photos of a very smart 'Little gull' a 'Great crested grebe sporting its summer fascinator and two grim faced 'Grey lag geese'

just a few more photos from my trip out of 'The Shire' to Tregaron yesterday - Four spotted chaser, Demoiselle dragon fly, Blue damsell fly and a Red damsell fly

 

I had never seen a Green hairstreak until yesterday. A trip out of Pembrokeshire to Cors Caron nature reserve was where I went. They are pretty small - only 27 to 34 mm wingspan. They only open their wings as they take off so that makes them even trickier to find.

A little bit gloomy tonight but I did manage this clip of St Davids Lifeboat launching on exercise. Yet again giving up their free time in order to learn the skills necessary to face the unknown.

 

On a visit to WWT Llanelli yesterday I was lucky enough to see a Little ringed plover. Sadly there are only 1 pair of Lapwing there, they have a nest covered in a wire mesh cage in the hope of stopping predation. Also a pair of 'courting' Black headed gulls. just a few of many photos to sort through

 

Some Birdies from a visit yesterday to RSPB Dinas. Nice to hear and see Woodland birds at this time of year. We saw Redstarts (males) Pied flycatchers plus many more No Bluebells in flower yet.
