Tractor Run

Lovely day for the Tractor run through St David’s. Nice to see some old friends. In my opinion they seemed to be ‘weaving’ a little after the lunch break at the Rugby Club !!

Today on Ramsey was really peaceful – a nice gentle stroll around – blue bells now in full bloom, blue seas, blue skies, a nice cup of tea to finish up with – bird of the day, Little owls. Lyndon

Blue Skies and geology on Ramsey Island pembrokeshire

Following a brilliant day photographing Dr Sarah Beynon and her group of Dung Beetle Hunters today was another great day sailing around, landing on Ramsey Island and photographing Geologist Sid Howells and his group. If only I knew more about his subject – the ‘doors he opened’ were amazing. Thanks Sid and also for the blue skies and seas you arranged for us. A day with Dr Sarah Beynon and 'Dung Beetles' and more

A great time was had on Ramsey Island today by 14 of us ageing from 3 to 70+ years investigating her passion for ‘Dung and its inhabitants’ The photo shows Sarah investigating a Dung beetle trap with some of the group’s younger ones and ‘the prize’ More days are planned, keep in touch with Thousand Islands and/or visit www.dungbeetlesdirect.com After returning to St Justinian’s a few of us were treated to the launch of St David’s existing Tyneside which then did a lovely pass by the new Tamar boat. As pure chance would have it both boats have the number 026 in their identification number

A million miles away from my normal interests were a group of Zulu children in St David's today doing a sing and dance routine. They are both on holiday and raising money for their school. They were brill - their strong voives defeating cars, buses and tractors

After a few months indoors it was wonderful to be off shore again on our first trip offshore with Thousand Islands. Grassholm Gannets spectacular as ever also on the Island Raven, Peregrine falcon, an unprecedented number of Guillemot and good numbers of Kittiwake. At sea lots of puffins, Manx shearwater An Arctic skua, Storm petrel etc. Also one small pod of Common dolphin
