Ramsey Island today was ...............

was a wonderful place today to have an afternoon snooze with one of my friends. Everyone else went walking and apparently saw lots of my relatives, a Hen harrier, Kestrels, Buzzards, peregrine Falcon, Ravens, Chough, loads of migrating birds including Warblers, Spotted fly catchers, Wheatear, flocks of Meadow pipits, an all day movement of swallows, butterflies ,

Ramsey Island today

Ramsey Island had to be the best place in the world to be today. Blue skies, blue seas - wonderful. The Western Bonelli’s warbler was the highlight of the day but the ‘supporting cast’ was superb as well, Seals and pups, Chough, Raven, Buzzard, Peregrine falcon, Curlew, Whimbrel, Wllow warbler, Chiff chaff, Spotted flycatcher, Blackcap, Swallows, House martins, Gannets, Fulmar etc

etc. All rounded off with a lovely cup of tea – I was a very good boy today and did not have a flapjack!!

An all day trip on 3 sept 2013 with ...........

Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre in Newquay showed just how diverse wildlife is in and on our seas around Wales. Sightings included Bottle nosed dolphins, Seals, Lions mane jellyfish and numerous sea birds, Storm petrel, Auks (including puffin) Great skua, Shearwaters and various gulls etc

A joint trip with the Mid Pembs and Bird Group Sections of the wildlife Trust on Celtic wildcat from Neyland turned out to be an excellent day for those on board. Both the weather and wildlife were kind to us. Not far off shore we came across many pods of Common Dolphin (200+) lots of feeding groups of Manx Shearwaters, Auks, Fulmars. Storm petrel. Great Skua etc. A Risso’s Dolphin showed really well as did the gannets on Grassholm with chicks of all ages. Seals were numerous and we found a third cetacean in the form of a group of Porpoise. Thanks to skipper Nick, Robin, and to everyone who came on the trip

18 August Pembrey

Sunday the 18August at Pembrey race circuit saw racing cars from as early as 1911 to 1959. How wonderful to see, hear and smell these cars being raced instead of standing idle in Museums. Shown are Vauhahall, Lotus. Bugatti’s and an Alfa Romeo
