On a visit to WWT Llanelli yesterday I was lucky enough to see a Little ringed plover. Sadly there are only 1 pair of Lapwing there, they have a nest covered in a wire mesh cage in the hope of stopping predation. Also a pair of 'courting' Black headed gulls. just a few of many photos to sort through

 

Some Birdies from a visit yesterday to RSPB Dinas. Nice to hear and see Woodland birds at this time of year. We saw Redstarts (males) Pied flycatchers plus many more No Bluebells in flower yet.

 

At last an opportunity to go and see 'The Godwit' at Llanrhysted. The weather was not good, but, the bird is and well worth the drive to see it. An added bonus was a Wheatear on top of the shingle. Thank you Karen for your help with location etc

 

How ironic that on 'National dolphin day' a dead Common dolphin should be on Whitesands beach. At approx 1.4 metres it is not yet fully an adult I have reported it today (14 April at 11.10am) to The National Strandings Line who are going to collect. Interestingly if any one ever thinks of trying swim and play with Dolphins just look at the teeth !!

Golden plover

 

A few photos of parts of a huge flock of Golden -plover between St davits and Rhodiad this morning.  Eventually the flock split into smaller groups before landing or moving on.  Lovely to see so many and hear their 'piping calls for so far away from the flock
