Boat trip on Celtic Wildcat 23rdJuly13

Wildlife Trust Sections - Mid pembs and pembs Bird group We were so lucky with the weather’ by chance the day before the long hot spell changed. Sailing from Neyland we were a full boat on Celtic Wildcat. The three Islands of Skomer, Skokholm and Grassholm were all looked at during the day. Large numbers of Puffins, other Auks, Kittiwakes etc present. Around the Lighthouse (Skokholm)
both Chough and Peregrine Falcon were spotted. The Grassholm Gannet colony was – to say the least – very active. Seals were noted and further out to sea two pods of common Dolphin, Porpoise, Manx Shearwaters and Storm petrel as well as many hundreds of birds feeding round a Trawler. Thanks to Robin for organising the day to our skipper Nick and to everyone on the trip for making the day so nice. Lyndon lomax
