This afternoon could not have been better for a trip to Grassholm Island and out towards the Smalls Lighthouse. We quickly found some Porpoise, followed by Puffins. Grassholm and it's population of Gannets were at their best. The sea was clear and Common Dolphins could be seen passing below the surface under the boat. Other wildlife we encountered included Manx shearwaters, Fulmars and Jelly fish. Thanks to falcon Boats

Rutland 3 - famous for Ospreys there are 20+ birds around Rutland water at the moment. The water is 25 miles and more around so lots of space and not easy to photograph them - just three photos from a short visit there. Magnificent birds

Rutland 2 - I am relying on 'DG' to name the orchid - Unfortunately I only had an evening and 2/3 of the next day at Rutland water. It is a large but Internationally important area for Wildlife particularly for Osprey but there is much much more. I only 'scratched the surface' on my visit. Being so vast an area Wildlife can be some distance away from you making photography a bit of a challenge. However I did find breeding Waders, Warblers, Misc Water birds, Terns, Gulls, Birds of Prey, etc, also Muntjac, Kingfisher, Avocet and lovely old fashioned flowering meadows with many species of plants, butterflies and insects and, a lovely Pub to stay at with a very friendly brunette behind the Bar.

4th June was the first boat trip this year departing from Neyland that I organise on behalf of Wildlife Trust groups on board Celtic Wildlcat. We stopped at Skomer (Breeding colonies of Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills etc) then on to Grassholm ( Only Gannet colony in Wales) then out to look at the famous Smalls Lighthouse. Our journey of some 110 nautical miles was rounded off by finding some exciting Common dolphins

Rather dull yesterday but, we did avoid Thunder, Lightening, Torrential rain and Flooding signifying the end of the world as was forecasted. We did however encounter some rather lively Bottle nosed dolphins on a survey with Dolphin Survey Boat trips
