Goodwick was a very good place to be today for Rainbows - appearing and disappearing as if by magic

 

A short visit to Cilgerran and a few moments between rain showers and managed a quick snap of a Ring billed duck. It has somehow found its way from the Americas to here. In case someone Googles it for a bit more info the species used to be known as Ring necked duck

 

Just looked at some old - 2010 photos of I took of Seals underwater. Pup is old enough to swim very well and Mummy seal gave the pup a last swimming lesson before mating with Mr seal and leaving the pup to fend for itself. The other two are a female and male simply swimming underwater.

 

'I am an Atlantic Grey seal. My mother has now left me to fend for myself. I must go through my first moult to get rid of my non waterproof white baby fir and get my first water proof coat so I can go fishing. No matter how much a rub against rocks or wriggle on the shingle its taking ages and its driving me nuts'.

 

The sunset 'came good' again as darkness fell at Strumble Head this evening

 

 A wandering young Bull being a nuisance both to an adult female with a pup and a yearling was soon put 'in his place' a few days ago.  Meanwhile 'pup' and a recently weaned pup just ignored the disturbance.  Note - Taken from the cliffs with a telephoto lens and cropped

A fantastic sunset at Strumble Head last night - if only my photos were as good as 'the real thing'. i do not use filters

 

A lovely sunset at Strumble Head last night was followed by an 'After glow' beyond which rays from the setting sun from Ireland or beyond can be seen.

 

A Little egret doing some fantastic moves equal to anything on 'Strictly' to catch a fish for lunch

 

The sun did come out very briefly in Cilgerran this morning and a Kingfisher hung on grimly in the high winds seeming to have no luck with finding breakfast.

 

Oh deer - Mr Red Stag did the strut and made a lot of noise but the Ladies were not interested so he gave up. Can't blame them in wind and rain I did not stay long in Cilgerran as it was pretty cold.
